DECEMBER 1999
- George Kahoilua scored a hole-in-one on Dec 24 on the 140-yd 7th hole at
the West Loch course using a 7-iron.
- Patrick Hennessey scored a hole-in-one on Dec 21 on the 140-yd 7th hole at
the West Loch course using a 8-iron.
- Donald Segawa scored a hole-in-one on Dec 15 on the 130-yd 6th hole at
the Ted Makelana course using a 9-iron.
- NoNaMes soccer team won the state AYSO under-12 championship in Hilo.
- Mililani Kolohe Jabbers
were runner-ups in the under-14 statesoccer championship tournament on Maui.
- MHS offensive tackle Ryan Santos verbally committed to playing for the UH Rainbow Warriors
next fall.
- Mililani Trojan Pee Wees won their second straight state Pee Wee title at the 45
annual Mele Kalikimaka Bowl at Aloha Stadium.
- Mililani Gold's Bryce
Watanabe was the batting champion with a .606 average in the Rural Invitational
Junior Baseball League.
- Aloha Aquatics swimmer Catherine
Nakamura won six gold medals at the UH Senior & Age-Group Invitational.
NOVEMBER 1999
- Mililani's new inline hockey
rink at Kaoma`aiku Neighborhood Park was christened & blessed on Nov 27.
- Jeffrey Jones scored a hole-in-one on Nov 21 on the 142-yd 2nd hole of
Hickam Par 3 using a 3-iron.
- Mililani Uka took the team title at the 1999 Mililani Mauka Elementary
School Cross Country Invitational. Mililani Waena took 2nd,
& Kipapa Elementary took 3rd.
- NoNaMes soccer team won the Mililani AYSO uncer-12 championships with a 9-0-1
record.
- Robby Philipp won the boy's title at the Honolulu Marathon State Cross
Country Championships at the Maui Lani Golf Course in Wailuku.
- Stephen Jacobs scored a hole-in-one on Nov 11 on the 180-yd 2nd hole of
Barbers Point using a 3-wood.
- Arlene Kuniyoshi, Wayne Abrigo,
Mike Kubo, Dr. Myo Nwe, Cary Ono, & Derrick Taves are playing in the seniors division of the United States Tennis Associations'
National Playoffs.

won 1st place in the OIA Cross Country Championships at Nanakuli High.
OCTOBER 1999
- Christine Nakamura took first place in 6 events at the Oct 29-30 University
of Hawaii Senior & Age-Group Invitational.
- Walter Kushimi scored a hole-in-one on Oct 31 on the 205 yd 4th hole of
Pali using a 7-wood.
- Bryon Lee scored a hole-in-one on Oct 26 on the 101 yd 5th hole of
West Loch using a 9-iron.
- MHS graduates Tony Deocares, Marc
Hasegawa, & Ian Hasegawa are on Southern
Colorado men's soccer team (10-4-1) which is tied for first in the Rocky Mountain Athletic
Conference.
- Bryon Lee scored a hole-in-one on Oct 15 on the 198 yd 10th hole of
the Hawaii course using a 4-wood.
- MHS alumni on Northern Colorado women's soccer team include Jackie
Pang, Jan Yomogida, and Megan Inouye...Northern Colorado is ranked No. 21 in the
National Collegiate Coaches Association Division II poll.

- Sajiro Wada scored a
hole-in-one on Sep 14 on the 147 yd 15th hole of Ewa Villages using a 9-wood.
- Mililani Gold Select I won the Big Island Cup tournament...story
- Kerry Ishihara scored a hole-in-one on Sep 9 on the 171 yd 16th hole of
the Pearl Country Club using a 5-iron.
- Noah Rolf of MHS has
signed to play soccer at BYU-Hawaii.
- The Mililani-Waipio 8 &
Under girls team won the state Bobby Sox title, & finished with a 3-2 record at
the National Tournament of Champions at Buena Park, Calif.
- The Mililani-Waipio 12 &
under bobby soxers finished 3-2 at the National Tournament of Champions at Buena
Park, Calif.
AUGUST 1999
JULY 1999
- The Mililani Stars Soccer
team won the silver medal in the girls under 10 division Hawaii International Cup
Soccer Tournament at Waimanalo..team members.
- John Orr, 9, won 2
gold medals at the USA National Karate-do Federation National Championships at Charleston,
West Virginia.
- The 1999 Mililani Mustangs (9-10 year olds) All Star Team won the State
Tournament in Hilo over a tough Waianae team, 6-3. Mililani went undefeated in the
tournament defeating Hilo (4-3), Waianae (4-2), Maui (13-6) and Waianae again in the
championship game. The players and coaches advance to the Regional Tournament in Santa
Clarita, California beginning on July 28. Team members include: Dustin
Antolin, Aaron Asamura, Evan Bisho, Chris Connell, Travis Derby, Scott Fisher, Jayson
Fukumoto, Bryan Hosaka, David Ishida, Jr., Bryant Moniz, Derek Richards, Landon Satele,
Waylen Sing Chow, Curt Ueda, Israel Zablan, Head Coach Terry Derby, Coach Carl Ogata and
Coach Ty Sing Chow.
- The Hawaii Bulls, an
elite soccer team with 8 players from Mililani, won silver medals in the Far West regional
playoffs of the Snickers U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships.
- The father-son-daughter teams of Edward Gonzales, sons Ryan & Erik, & daughter Kara won
first place in 3 of 5 divisions in the Father's Day Hot Shot basketball tournament at
Whaiawa Shopping Center
- The Mililani Broncos
won the regional P.O.N.Y. tournament playoffs at Mililani District Park.
- Wayne Yano scored a
hole-in-one on the 170-yd 13th hole of Makaha Valley East using a 8-iron. 7/10.
- The Mililani All-Star Pinto
team won the Pinto Goodwill baseball tournament.
- The Mililani HaYan Girls
won the state ASA softball championship in the 10-&-under division.
- The Mililani Illusions
won 2nd place in the boys under 12 division of the Hawaii Cup Soccer Tournament on Maui.
JUNE 1999
- The Na Hoku softball team
won the state title of the Hawaii State ASA 12-under B-division.
- Mililani AYSO Gold Select
team captured first place in the 1999 Kirk Banks tournament
- Mililani Sharks won
the 15-and-under March Madness basketball tournament at Wheeler Airfield.
- Mililani Pacers won
the age 15-16 division of the Mililani Basketball Association.

- Keiko Price in the running
to become the first Hawaii swimmer to compete in the Olympics since 1976. 5/3.

- Mililani girls repeated; boys won second title, but first since 1977.

- Rotary Club of Mililani
Sunrise hosted its second annual Scholarship Fund-raiser Gold Tournament at
Leilehua Army Golf Course - 5/19.
- Erin Hoe finished her third consecutive undefeated season with the
state singles title. 5/15.
- Vera Simms set a state meet record in the 300 low hurdles, was
second in the 100 and 100 high hurdles, & part of the Trojans' record-setting 4x100
relay team. 5/15.
APRIL 1999
- Keiko Price, MHS '96,
a junior at UCLA, swam the 2nd fastest 50-yd freestyle in UCLA history at the NCAA women's
Division I championships.
- Mililani Jammers were
undefeated in the Under-11 Girls Division of the 1999 Hawaii State Soccer Cup Tournament.
- Vera Simms set two
individual & one team record at the OIA Western Division Track Championships - 4/23.
- Erin Hoe (tennis), Robby
Philipp (track), & Leila Hammonds (track) won honorable mention for Athletes of
the Week - 4/21.
- MHS girls tennis team
won its 6-straight OIA Championship - 4/10. Team members.
- The Mililani Hydra soccer
team won the Hawaii State Cup.

- Quincy Solano honorable mention
in swiming - 3/3.
- Daryl Nakama scored a
hole-in-one using a 4-iron on Ted Makalena's 175-yd 4th hole - 3/8.
- Bobbie Kishinami
scored a hole-in-one using a 4-iron on Waikele's 118-yd 8th hole.
- Mark Bidenstine, Dyron
Kelly, & Leila Hammonds honorable mention in track - 3/10.
- Ernie Bisol scored a hole-in-one using a 4-iron on
Hawaii CC's 198-yd 10th hole - 3/12.
- Cesar Jube held a
free clinic for Mililani Soccer Club players. 3/13.
- Jack Burge scored a

- John Leaney, men's
