About Opihi Creative

Founded in 2007, we specialize in a collaborative approach to website creation. Based in Honolulu, Hawaii we work with non-profits, schools and small-businesses to build simple yet beautiful and functional websites.

Opihi Creative is named after the ‘Opihi (oh-pee-hee) which is a salty limpet vaguely reminiscent of the abalone which is known for its ability to stick to lava rock and survive the rough currents of Hawaii’s coastline.

Like the ‘Opihi we stick with our clients through the entire process to ensure the job gets done on time and on budget.

Collaboration & Success

  • Oahu Band Directors Association

    The Oahu Band Directors Association is made up of band director members from public and private schools across the island of Oahu. Offering musical opportunities to thousands of island band students through Parade of Bands concert band festivals, Solo and Ensemble festivals, and Select and Honor Bands.

    In collaboration with the Oahu Band Directors Association we built a simple but effective public website which provides news and downloads. In addition to the public website the OBDA has an extensive member website which helps band directors communicate and register for events.

  • La Cresta Tree Company

    Focusing on large specimen trees, including Oak trees, Olive trees, and Pine trees. Fallbrook, California based La Cresta Tree Company is the premier big tree nursery in San Diego County. La Cresta provides consulting, sales, and service for large tree moving, tree sales, tree maintenance, and tree landscaping projects for commercial, residential, and governmental customers in California, Arizona, and Nevada. Having its own fleet of cranes, specially designed boxes, flat-bed trucks, and several tree farm locations. La Cresta enjoys a unique niche among big tree nurseries in growing, selling, and/or transporting large trees.

    The Highlands Intermediate School Band Program is one of the premiere middle school bands in the State of Hawaii and located in Pearl City on the island of Oahu.

    Situated within the Niu Valley neighborhood, we service the East Honolulu Communities of Kalama Valley, Hawaii Kai, Kuliouou, Niu Valley, Aina Haina, Wailupe Valley, and Waialae Iki. Students also hail from all administrative districts on Oahu.

→ Bradford Yamamoto, Jr.

Bradford is principal and Founder of Opihi Creative and has been creating websites for over 10 years. His ability to communicate and break down complex problems combined with love of lists, organization and planning makes him the ideal project planner and manager. A fan of minimalist design he creates simply beautiful designs and hand codes every website.

He currently splits his time between Honolulu and Los Angeles, where his spouse attends pharmacy school. Often working from a coffee shop, Bradford frequently writes about freelancing, web design, project management and a variety of other topics from his blog — Coffee Shop Freelancer.
